This unique program invites individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities to discover joy and self-expression through dance and movement. More than just dance steps, it uses movement as a catalyst for connection—nurturing friendships, building confidence, and creating a genuine sense of belonging in a warm, inclusive environment.
This program is designed for individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities, particularly those experiencing motor development delays, including (but not limited to) Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism, and other developmental delays. It is best suited for participants without significant behavioral challenges.
This fun and engaging program supports both fine and gross motor skills, enhances focus, and encourages sensory regulation—all while giving participants and their families a true sense of joy and belonging!
As a partnership between Bloom Wellness Collective and the City of Calgary supported by grant funding, this program is offered free of charge as a way to offer families facing barriers including language, income and other forms of marginalization an opportunity for their child with a disability to find belonging and joy in a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment. Our goal is to break down these barriers allowing families and participants a safe learning environment where lasting connections may be made, and fun may be had by all!
We are fortunate to offer a 1:3 ratio of volunteer mentors to participants in all our programs. If your participant requires 1:1 support, please arrange for their OWN aide to attend with them.
Ask About A Complimentary Trial Class; We are happy to invite families who are hesitant about registering to connect with us about their participant joining a complimentary trial class. We want to demonstrate first-hand what a Bloom program looks and feels like to ensure a suitable fit for all!
